First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced her "team of talents", comprising nine cabinet secretaries.

They are:

John Swinney - Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Constitution and Economy

Mr Swinney was previously cabinet secretary for finance, employment and sustainable growth. His main responsibilities include the economy, fiscal policy and the budget, business and industry, and securing the Government's parliamentary business.

He is also tasked with deputising for Ms Sturgeon, and overseeing the constitution, Government strategy and relations with other UK administrations.

Keith Brown - Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure, Investment and Cities

Mr Brown has been promoted from his role as transport minister, taking on responsibilities which were previously included in Ms Sturgeon's brief as Deputy First Minister. He will lead on infrastructure and capital investment, Scotland's cities and transport policy.

Roseanna Cunningham - Cabinet Secretary for Fair Work, Skills and Training

Ms Cunningham joins the Cabinet having served as minister for community safety and legal affairs. Her new post takes in areas which were previously covered in Angela Constance's old brief as cabinet secretary for training, youth and women's employment.

She will have responsibility for employment policy, women's employment, youth employment, the living wage, and skills and employment training.

Angela Constance - Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning

Ms Constance moves into Michael Russell's role, taking on the education portfolio which includes schools, colleges and universities.

Shona Robison - Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport

Ms Robison, a close ally of her new boss Ms Sturgeon, moves to Alex Neil's old post from her previous role as cabinet secretary for Commonwealth Games, sport, equalities and pensioners' rights.

She takes on the health portfolio, and retains responsibility for sport.

Alex Neil - Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Communities and Pensioners' Rights

Mr Neil takes on social justice, elections, communities and local government. He has also been given responsibility for pensioners' rights, previously included in Ms Robison's old portfolio.

Michael Matheson - Cabinet Secretary for Justice

The former public health minister replaces Kenny MacAskill, with responsibility for all aspects of the justice system.

Richard Lochhead - Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and Environment

Mr Lochhead retains his brief covering rural Scotland, food and drink, the environment and climate justice.

Fiona Hyslop - Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Europe and External Affairs

Ms Hyslop stays on, leading on culture and the arts.

The First Minister has also confirmed that Lord Advocate Frank Mulholland and Solicitor General Lesley Thompson will continue to serve in the Cabinet as Scotland's most senior law officers.
