THE LibDems yesterday demanded Alex Salmond tell voters how much he has made from his his second jobs before the general election.

The former First Minister has struck lucrative deals for a regional newspaper column and his book about the referendum, but his parliamentary register of interests has yet to be updated.

Salmond's first newspaper column appeared on January 12, and signing a deal with Rupert Murdoch's publishing empire for his bestselling "The Dream Shall Never Die" in February.

MSPs must declare outside income within 30 days to the Holyrood authorities, who can then take up to 30 days to make the information public.

Scottish LibDem president Sir Malcolm Bruce, the former MP for Gordon, where Salmond is standing in May, said: "As he nominates himself for yet another job, people will want to know the details of Alex Salmond's media contracts.

"The regular newspaper column, the book deal with Rupert Murdoch's company and the serialisation in the Sun on Sunday. The additional jobs are adding up.

"Money is changing hands and people are asking why it has not been declared.

"Is Alex Salmond going to report to people on the finances of his other jobs before polling day? That is the question he now faces."

An SNP spokesman said: "Mr Salmond is delighted to update the register according to the rules. By definition, something has to be received for it to be declared."
