New Scottish Labour leader Jim Murphy has held his first shadow cabinet meeting and announced the rest of his team.

He completed a major reshuffle by unveiling shadow ministerial posts and appointing members to junior shadow ministerial teams, including MSPs, MPs, MEPs and a councillor.

Shadow rural affairs, food and environment secretary Sarah Boyack, who lost out in the leadership contest, will be the party's manifesto co-ordinator, with James Kelly as election co-ordinator.

Mr Murphy, the MP for East Renfrewshire, hosted his first shadow cabinet meeting in Edinburgh before going on to meet the First Minister for talks.

He said: "I am looking forward to working with the full team as we take our positive vision for changing Scotland around the country.

"I want a team of all the talents available to Scottish Labour. That means MSPs, MPs, MEPs and councillors. Whatever happened in the past must remain there - this is a new team for a new era, where we all work together to regain the trust of people in Scotland.

"There is a spring in the step of the Scottish Labour Party. We need to take that new energy and show Scots we have the radical and bold ideas to transform our country."

Scottish Labour's shadow ministerial team includes: Business, energy and tourism Lewis Macdonald; transport and islands Dave Stewart; youth and women's employment Siobhan McMahon; children and young people Cara Hilton; learning, science and Scotland's languages Mark Griffin; public health Richard Simpson; housing and welfare Michael McMahon; local government and community empowerment Alex Rowley; sport, health improvement and mental health Rhoda Grant; Europe and international development Anne McTaggart; environment, climate change and land reform Claudia Beamish; community safety and legal affairs Elaine Murray; town centres Margaret McCulloch.
