Scottish Labour leader Jim Murphy has urged supporters of Scottish independence to save the UK from Conservative rule by voting Labour.
Mr Murphy convened a meeting of Labour supporters that voted Yes and No to independence to urge them to put the referendum behind them and work together to evict David Cameron from Downing Street.
He warned that a vote for anyone other than Labour is a vote which could return the Conservatives to power, during the meeting in Tollcross in Glasgow.
His call comes a day after Mr Cameron warned that a vote for anyone other than the Conservatives is a vote that could put Labour leader Ed Miliband in Number 10, potentially propped up by the SNP.
Mr Murphy told Labour nationalists: "Although we voted in different ways last September, we all want change for Scotland. We all care about Scotland's future.
"The future for Scotland's families. Our community. Our country.
"And in the election in May we have an opportunity to shape a better future.
"We can change Scotland by getting rid of David Cameron.
"We need to stop the Tories being the largest party across the UK.
"And the way to do that is by voting Scottish Labour.
"To those who want rid of David Cameron - let's unite and get rid of him in May."
He pledged to use the mansion tax on London homes to fund 1,000 Scottish nurses, make wealthy people pay half their salary in income tax, end zero hours contracts, increase the minimum wage to £8 and deliver powers beyond those recommended in the Smith Commission.
"After every single UK general election since before the Second World War, the largest party has gone on to form the government," he said.
"There have been no exceptions.
"After the election the largest party across the UK will either be Labour or the Tories.
"So either Labour or the Tories will form the next UK Government.
"Any seat the SNP take from Scottish Labour is a seat off our total across the UK.
"And that makes it more likely the Tories will be the largest party and form the next government.
"Now I read the opinion polls just like everybody else.
"They don't make happy reading just now. Not just for my party, but for Scotland.
"Because as things stand it could be Scotland that sends David Cameron back to Downing Street by accident.
"Just imagine that.
"The country that fought so hard against Mrs Thatcher. The proud nation that banished the Tories in that 1997 election.
"In May we can save not just Scotland but the whole of the UK from another five years of Tory Government. But to do that we need to vote Scottish Labour."
