The SNP will take its fight to Westminster for the most powers it can get to "make home rule a reality", leader Nicola Sturgeon is to tell television viewers.

In a party political broadcast tonight, Ms Sturgeon will accuse Labour and the Conservatives of being "joined at the hip" as she bids for votes at the forthcoming general election.

"There is indeed a wind of change blowing through Scotland," she said.

"And never has it been more vital to make Scotland's voice heard loudly and clearly in Westminster.

"Time was Labour used to stand up to the Tories, but now it seems they're joined at the hip.

"They campaigned together in Scotland's referendum. And just recently they voted together for yet another round of austerity cuts.

"The fact is only the SNP will force Westminster to listen to the people of Scotland.

"We'll speak out against unfair policies like the bedroom tax, and we'll speak up for social justice for all.

"We'll fight tooth and nail against spending billions on Trident when that money should be spent on public services and better childcare.

"And we'll make Westminster stick to their vow, not just to grant more powers for Scotland, but the most powers - the meaningful powers we need to make home rule a reality for Scotland.

"For the last seven years in government we've delivered policies that have Scotland's interests at heart.

"The SNP will never stop working to get the best for Scotland. That's a promise we'll keep."
