All tickets have been snapped up for Nicola Sturgeon's nationwide speaking tour to meet SNP members as their new leader -- a total audience of almost 20,000, including just under 13,000 at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.

The party's burgeoning membership has snapped up all 19,601 tickets for events from Dumfries to Aberdeen, Inverness to Edinburgh and 1698 have put their names on a waiting list.

Eyebrows were raised when it was announced that Ms Sturgeon would speak at the huge SSE Hydro in Glasgow, but all 12,961 tickets for the event have gone and more than a thousand members have put their names down for any cancellations.

The second biggest event will be in Dundee where all 1950 tickets have gone at the Caird Hall, a venue so large that some parties have had to abandon using it for their annual conferences.

The events are free and aimed mainly at new members, who were offered two tickets if they could bring along a non-member.

The Corn Exchange in Edinburgh will have an audience of 1650, the Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries 700, the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness 990 and the Music Hall in Aberdeen1350, all with waiting lists for cancellations.
