The Ministry of Defence says by 2020 Scotland will have:
l One of three Royal Navy main bases, including submarines;
l One of the British Army's seven adaptable force brigades;
l One of three RAF fast jet main operating bases;
l 12,500 regular service personnel compared to 12,070 in 2010, which comes amid an overall declining number across the UK and by 2022
l 8200 staff at HM Naval Base Clyde, up from the current 6700.
