No 10 to bolster press team

Downing Street is looking to bolster its press operations in the run up to the Scottish independence referendum.

No 10 is looking for a new senior press officer in its economics team.

It comes as the UK Government steps up its attacks on the finances of an independent Scotland.

The UK Government cabinet is due to meet next week in Aberdeen, where they are expected to set out proposals for a potentially £200 billion boost to the oil industry.

Ministers are expected to back plans for a Scottish-based regulator to oversee groundbreaking collaboration between investors in the North Sea.

The No 10 job involves working on economics and home affairs.
