Plans to double size of park land

A CONSULTATION on plans to double the size of Pentland Hills Regional Park is being launched by an MSP.

Christine Grahame, MSP for Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale will today unveil details of proposals to extend the boundaries of the park south of Edinburgh to take in the full Pentland Hills range.

Ms Grahame said: "With increasing visitor numbers and an increasing public awareness of the benefits of getting out to enjoy activities such as walking and horse-riding, it seems sensible to me to give the whole Pentland Hills range the same kind of protection afforded to Regional Park."

The consultation runs until May 23.
