TONY Watt has already scored twice against Barcelona on NextGen Series duty.

Now the Celtic and Scotland Under-21 striker hopes for the chance to do the same in the Champions League.

The 18-year-old, whose two goals in two games were the main plus points in back-to-back 3-1 and 5-1 defeats to the Catalan giants in the European youth competition 12 months back, has made great strides since then, and now finds himself on the fringes of the team which Neil Lennon will lead to the Camp Nou on Champions League matchday three in 10 days' time.

Victory for the Parkhead side against Spartak Moscow has given Celtic fresh hope of making it out of the group stages and Watt for one feels the club can continue to confound expectations against Lionel Messi and Co.

"I scored two against them last year – one home and one away – but the team got hammered so it wasn't really a good thing," said Watt, part of the Scotland Under-21 group which travelled with Billy Stark this week to the Marbella Cup competion.

"Barcelona were unbelievable. They held the ball for fun and bullied us the whole game. We were chasing shadows and they were always a step ahead.

"It would be a dream come true to play against Barcelona, but it is a dream come true for me just to get on the pitch in the Champions League any time," he added.

Victory in Moscow was Celtic's first in 19 Champions League away trips, and Watt feels Celtic can go to Barcelona and compete on equal terms.

He said. "There is a belief we can go on and compete at this level because it is a young squad. People like Victor Wanyama and James Forrest have got big, big futures in the game. I am still on the fringes. I won't play every week and I won't be in the squad every week. I just have to do my job when I am called upon."
