The former England manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson, has emerged as a surprise figure in the race to succeed Craig Levein.

The Evening Times reports today that Eriksson, who has also managed Mexico and the Ivory Coast and is currently working in Thailand as technical director of Premier League club, Tero Sasana, wants to talk to the SFA about the vacant managerial post.

The 64-year-old Swede is currently on an open-ended contract.
