Scotland's domestic professionals are on course to end a six-year title drought in the PGAs of Europe International Team Championship at the Palmares resort in Portugal.
The Tartan Tour trio of David Orr, Gareth Wright and David Patrick extended their lead at the top to five shots during round three and have one hand on the prize going into the final day.
The Scots, who have a record-breaking haul of six European titles to their name but have not triumphed in the event since 2006, posted a six-under-par team tally of 138 for an 16-under aggregate of 416.
Orr, the former Scottish PGA champion, recovered from a shaky start to lead the way with a five-under 67. The 38-year-old, who finished third on the Tartan Tour's order of merit this season, had to back-to-back bogeys on the first and second but the Glasgow man mounted a rousing salvage operation and blasted seven birdies, including two in a row at 17 and 18, to finish with a flourish.
Wright, the West Linton-based Welshman who won the British Club Professionals' title this year, also birdied his last two holes on his way to a 71 while former Challenge Tour champion Patrick, had a discarded 76.
England, piloted by Stuart Little's 68, had a 140 to sit in second place on 421 while defending champions France are third on 425.
