John Yorkston, the Dunfermine Athletic chairman, is hopeful the club's wage crisis will be alleviated in a matter of weeks, with the delayed salaries from November and December expected to arrive by the end of this month.

The squad has been forced to contend with a second successive month of wage delays as the cash-strapped Fife club battle ongoing financial concerns. October's salaries were not delivered until November 24, while just 37% of November's wages have been received thus far.

Dunfermline attribute their cash-flow issues to a lack of match income – having hosted just one game at East End Park in seven weeks – as well as a £1m financial shortfall following relegation from the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. However, Yorkston remains hopeful that wage concerns will be a thing of the past by the New Year.

"We are hopeful all the players and staff will be brought up to date by the end of the month," said the Dunfermline chairman. "The player's are being constantly informed by Gavin [Masterton, majority shareholder], and they will be the first to know of any developments."

Fans and local businesses have been involved in trying to raise additional funding, with around £4000 donated to the club by fans' group Pars Alive. The club will also formalise the details of a share issue soon, similar to that of Hearts, as the club seek to raise up to £500,000.

"There has been a lot of local support," said Yorkston "The community benefited when we reached the Scottish Cup final in 2007 and the relationship is mutual."
