PHIL Kirby, due to move to Kate Walton's Middleham yard on January 1, saddled a farewell winner from his current Castleton base when Stopped Out won the Cash For Kids Handicap Hurdle at Kelso yesterday.

Sacre Toi and Brian Hughes got the better of Ros Castle in a real slog for the Monteith Memorial Handicap Chase. Red Rocco gave Donald McCain his 99th winner of the campaign in the Ashleybank Investment Reg & Betty Tweedie Novices' Chase.
Little Glenshee was the widest-margin winner of the day, winning the Middlemiss Embroidery Mares' Novices' Hurdle by 40 lengths.
Wilson Renwick received a seven-day whip ban after he forced Forty Crown home by a short head in the Children's Immunology Trust "National Hunt" Maiden Hurdle.
