Scotland club international centre Dean Kelbrick scored two tries as Ayr returned to winning ways in the RBS Premiership.
The champions lost to Melrose at Millbrae last weekend but whitewashed yesterday's visitors, Currie, who are without a win, 29-0.
Replacements Ross Curle and Callum Templeton also went over for the hosts, as did full-back Grant Anderson. Stand-off Finn Russell, back after a summer playing in New Zealand, kicked two conversions.
Melrose are still top after winning a tight affair against Glasgow Hawks 29-27 at the Greenyards. Scotland Under-20 winger Damien Hoyland showed his promise with two tries for the home side while Mark Robertson, the Scotland Sevens man, scored from the opposite wing.

Gala are second after they saw off Aberdeen Grammar 33-21 in at entertaining encounter at Netherdale. The hosts scored five tries through second-row Opeta Palepoi, centre Alan Emond, No 8 Tom Weir, centre Graham Speirs and captain George Graham.
Stand-off Dave O'Hagen kicked four conversions as they secured a bonus point. Grammar, who have won only one match from three, scored tries through stand-off Graeme Clow and back-row Tony McGinness, with Clow also kicking 11 points.
Hawick got their first victory of the season - and won back the Bill McLaren Shield - when they beat Edinburgh Accies 34-22 at Raeburn Place.
Mike Fedo grabbed a try for Hawick and centre Lee Armstrong, replacement Rory Hutton and second-row Rob McAlpine also crossed as they secured a bonus point. Full-back Neil Renwick kicked 14 points.
The home side, who came into this one with two wins from two, at least gained a losing bonus point thanks to tries from prop Alex Allan, scrum-half Alex Black, hooker Michael Liness and centre Ewen Campbell, but it will be little consolation.
Heriot's built on last week's win at home to Gala with a hard-earned 18-13 victory over Stirling County at Bridgehaugh.
Scotland Sevens duo Michael Maltman and James Fleming bagged the tries for the visitors, with scrum-half Graham Wilson adding one conversion and two penalties.
The hosts, who had won convincingly at Currie last week, had a solitary try from winger Rory Hughes and eight points from the boot of centre Brian Archibald.
Watsonians stayed top of the RBS National League after winger Ewan Miller and replacement Ali Ross scored two tries apiece to help the Edinburgh side defeat Biggar 74-5. Boroughmuir are hot on their heels after beating Dundee HSFP 37-17.
