Ally McCoist has criticised the Scottish Professional Football League for scheduling four games in the space of 11 days for Rangers and leaving supporters with three away fixtures in a row across the festive period.

Having played on Boxing Day, then last Monday night and Thursday, the Ibrox side travel to face Stenhousemuir in a rearranged game tomorrow, even though they then have nine free days without a fixture.

Rangers' preference was to play the Stenhousemuir game next midweek, after the original match last month was postponed due to safety concerns after Ochilview was damaged in high winds. However, Stenhousemuir were keen for the game to be played on Sunday, and the SPFL opted for that date despite Rangers making their feelings clear.

"It shows you how much they listen to us," said McCoist. "Different initials, but the same old story, the way our club has been treated. The game should have been played in midweek. That's our fourth game in 11 days and it's just not on. And then to make matters worse, they're sending us and our fans up to Forfar after the next nine days, so we play four games in 11 days, nothing for nine days and then they send our fans away up to Forfar on a Monday night. I just think there's something not right about that.

"At this time of year when money is scarce for everybody, to ask our fans to travel to a third away game and fourth game in 11 days, I just feel sorry for our supporters. I understand we have to attract sponsors for the game and attract television audiences, I just feel our fans are being asked to go the length and breadth of the country where that shouldn't necessarily be the case all the time."

Lewis Macleod was injured against Airdrie and will not feature against Stenhousemuir while Bilel Mohsni and Ian Black are suspended. Mohsni was shown a second yellow card after the final whistle and Sebastien Faure has accused Airdrie's manager, Gary Bollan, of shoving both players as they left the field. "The Airdrie striker and manager went to Bilel," Faure said. "The Airdrie manager pushed me and pushed Bilel. Bilel was very angry."
