TONY WATT has admitted that he was persuaded to return to Belgian club Lierse by the Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

Watt said before Christmas that he was homesick and had been embroiled in a series of disputes with the Lierse coach, Stanley Menzo. He now says he has put the issues behind him and will play out the season at the Belgian club.

"It was soon clear to me that a return to Celtic was not on the agenda," said Watt of a meeting with Lennon. "I've had a good chat with [Menzo] and we are fine. I realised after I scored two goals against Mechelen that my days at Lierse are not over. I will keep in touch with my family and friends. I hope soon to be able to get British TV in my flat. I was 19 and was away from home."

Another Celtic player who has struggled for games is Dylan McGeouch. The midfielder is interesting Partick Thistle and could move on loan until season's end.
