Rachel Corsie, the Glasgow City captain, yesterday became the latest Scotland internationalist to become full-time when she joined English Super League club Notts County.

The 24-year-old central defender, who is also Scotland vice-captain, is believed to have turned down the chance to play in Sweden in favour of a move to Nottingham. Having first joined City in 2008, Corsie had been a key figure in their domestic dominance throughout that period.

Anticipating her exit, the Scottish champions signed American age-group internationalist Ella Stephan from Russian club Ryazan at the end of last year.
