Neil Rankine, the majority shareholder at Livingston, has stated manager John McGlynn could be in charge of the club for the rest of his career after securing the 52-year-old on a new one-year rolling contract.

The deal comes in a week that McGlynn was named the SPFL Championship's manager of the month for December.

That came as a consequence of results in the league but his new contract was also a reward for the dedication shown by McGlynn since he took over in September.

"John fixes the washing machines, he fixed up all the dressing rooms, he has been power hosing the stadium," said Rankine. "John McGlynn will be here as long as Fergie [Sir Alex Ferguson] was at Manchester United unless someone headhunts him."
