Fraser Fyvie, the former Aberdeen midfielder, has been farmed out by Wigan Athletic to Shrewsbury Town for a month.

The 20-year-old has struggled to make an impact on the first-team at Wigan and has already been out on loan at Yeovil Town this season.

The Scotland under-21 internationalist has made just two appearances for Wigan this term - both in cup competitions - and only enjoyed another seven cup outings last season, while just making one league appearance. Fyvie, who made his debut for Aberdeen aged just 16, left Pittodrie to sign a three-year contract at Wigan in July 2012 for a reported £500,000, and will be hoping his spell with Shrewsbury can set him on the way to better times at the DW Stadium.

Shrewsbury have installed coach Mike Jackson as caretaker manager for the club's next three matches following Graham Turner's decision to resign from the dug-out on Tuesday.
