STUART HOGG: Boggy pitch limited his chances to attack but dependable in defence. 6
TOMMY SEYMOUR: A frustrating day for the wing but not the worst Scot on show. 5
ALEX DUNBAR: Defended stoutly before being sin-binned for not releasing Jonny May. 5
MATT SCOTT: Struggled with the pace of the game as he made his first start since November. 5
SEAN LAMONT: Try-saving tackle just before the break as Scotland clung on. 6
DUNCAN WEIR: Reverted back to his kicking game but faded after the break. 6
GREIG LAIDLAW: The new skipper's box-kicks pinned England down. Busy around the breakdown. 6
RYAN GRANT: Toured with the Lions in the summer but the prop is well short of form. 4
ROSS FORD: Four line-outs lost from Edinburgh hooker's throw in just 42 minutes of action. Will fear for his place. 4
MORAY LOW: A better performance than last week's in Dublin but that is not saying much. 5
TIM SWINSON: Quiet afternoon from the lock despite putting in a tremendous shift. 5
JIM HAMILTON: Nowhere near Courtney Lawes and Joe Launchbury at the line-out contests but usual warrior self at the breakdown. 6
RYAN WILSON: Carried well but lucky not to take a stint in the sin-bin after clashing with Lawes. 5
CHRIS FUSRARO: Picked ahead of captain Kelly Brown and showed promise on his debut. 6
DAVID DENTON: Another battering-ram from the Edinburgh number eight. 7
ENGLAND
MIKE BROWN: Scored a try in a man-of-the-match performance. Superb. 8
JACK NOWELL: Another strong afternoon from the rookie wing. 6
LUTHER BURRELL: Clearly belongs in the Test arena. Strong and direct. 7
BILLY TWELVETREES: Less conspicuous than his centre partner. Quiet. 6
JONNY MAY: Lively and elusive throughout. Enjoyed his third cap. 7
OWEN FARRELL: Niggly at times, but finished in credit overall. 7
DANNY CARE: Once again the heartbeat of England's attacking game. 7
JOE MARLER: Solid at the set-piece. Developing into a class act. 7
DYLAN HARTLEY: Always where the action was at its fiercest. 7
DAN COLE: Anchored the scrum and impressive overall. 7
JOE LAUNCHBURY: Did a lot of the unseen work in a fine shift. 7
COURTNEY LAWES: Combative and forceful as always. 7
TOM WOOD: England's warrior flanker imposed himself. 6
CHRIS ROBSHAW: One of his quieter games for England. 6
BILLY VUNIPOLA: Immense. Carried strongly and showed great hands. 8.
