THE teenage back-row Andrew Paterson's dream first season at Uddingston continued when he scored three tries to help the club add the RBS West 3 title to the RBS West Regional Bowl they won before Christmas.
Paterson's hat trick came in an 85-0 home win over Lanark.
"I have been working hard all season to get myself into the right positions to score from and, so far, I have 11 tries for the campaign; it has been a fantastic season for me," said the 19-year-old, who joined at the from Whitecraigs start of the season.
"I moved after the coach [Craig Ferguson] convinced me I would be a part of a very exciting period of change at the club, and he was right. We have a hugely talented group of boys and we have become a very tight unit. We have the right mix of hard work and laughs off the pitch."
The Bothwell Castle Policies outfit have their sights firmly set on completing a treble by making it to Murrayfield on April 19 and winning RBS National Bowl final. "Growing up and going to the stadium to cheer on Scotland, it was always a dream that I would one day walk out and play there," Paterson said. "The good thing now is the league is secured so we can use the remaining games to work on things as we build towards the National Bowl semi-finals."
