GLASGOW Warriors are believed to have agreed terms with Carlin Isles, a cult hero for the United States sevens team who is considered to be the fastest player in world rugby.

Sources in the USA claim that Isles, who had been linked with several leading European sides, opted for Glasgow because they had already signed his compatriot and team-mate Folau Niua.

With two of their international wingers, Sean Maitland and DTH van der Merwe, on the long-term injury list, it is thought that Warriors officials pursued Isles as a crowd-pulling replacement.

He could make his debut in the RaboDirect PRO12 game against Leinster, rivals for a play-off place, in Dublin on March 1.

Isles, 24, has emerged this season as one of the leading lights in the IRB's HSBC World Sevens Series, the global sevens circuit.
