ROTHERHAM UNITED, the Sky Bet League One club managed by Stevie Evans, the former Clyde, Albion Rovers and Ayr United player, have joined the race to sign Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd, writes Craig Stewart.

The 30-year-old Scotland forward has been back to something like his best during his year-long second stint at Rugby Park, scoring 15 goals in the process. He has attracted interest prior to his contract expiring in the summer, with Steven Pressley at Coventry City also said to be interested.

Terry Butcher, the Hibernian manager who will try to work out a way to stop him when his side travels to Ayrshire tomorrow, believes the striker is now better than ever. "Kris a quality player and can score goals out of the blue," he said. "He is there when it matters. His all-round game has got better, without a shadow of a doubt."
