STEVEN NAISMITH believes Andrew Robertson's first Scotland cap will be followed by many more as he praised the maturity of the Dundee United defender.

The Everton forward was impressed by the young full-back's composed debut for the national side after coming on as a second-half substitute to replace Barry Bannan.

Scotland scored the only goal of the contest through Scott Brown while Robertson was on the field and the 19-year-old played his part in a resolute defensive display. It was enough to convince Naismith that Robertson will soon be a regular teammate in the national set-up

"It is a fantastic achievement for Andy," Naismith said. "Against Poland he showed he will slot in comfortably and I'm sure that will be the first of many caps for him. He showed maturity beyond his years."
