Barry Wilson can still recall vividly the night that Super Caley went ballistic inside Celtic Park.
He will be content for those images to fade into the background this weekend should Inverness lift a major trophy for the first time in their history, following a Scottish League Cup final meeting with Aberdeen at the home of Celtic.
The stadium has already shuddered at the sight of one unexpected victory for the Highlanders and Wilson is hopeful that it can bear witness to another on Sunday. He scored the first goal for an Inverness team which defeated Celtic 3-1 in a Scottish Cup tie in 2000 - a famous feat which the former midfielder believes would be surpassed by even a narrowest of wins in the cup final.
"It is time for Inverness to take the next step," said Wilson, now manager of SPFL League 2 side Elgin City. "Winning the cup will be much bigger than anything we ever achieved. One result is neither here nor there compared to being able to look back and say: 'We won a trophy'."
