Six former squash world No.1s will come together at the Aberdeen Squash and Racketball Club when the Legends of Squash tournament begins today.

Peter Nicol, the Scot who defected to England in 2001, will rekindle his memorable rivalry with the Canadian Jonathon Power and the pair will be joined by John White, the Australian who switched his allegiance to Scotland, England's David Palmer and Lee Beachill, and Thierry Lincou of France.

The Legends of Squash was launched in 2010 but this is the first time that all six former No.1s will meet up since 2005, when they were active, professional players.

The six men will play one another in a league competition which runs until Sunday. Nicol, who was world No.1 for 60 months of his career and organised the event, said: "This event will eclipse all the others to date."
