Scot Gemmill, the Scotland under-17 coach, is wary of the threat posed by Bosnia tonight as his side prepare to kick off their campaign to qualify for the European Under-17 Championships.

The match at Rugby Park is the first for a Scotland side which must negotiate a four-team Elite group.

The home side will comprise such bright talents as Rangers goalkeeper Robbie McCrorie, Calvin Miller of Celtic and Newcastle United's Kyle Cameron. Gemmill last night acknowledged that they must do all they can to avoid being outshone by their Bosnian counterparts.

"The Bosnia full team was probably the best performance of any side I saw last year; they were awesome and should do very well in Brazil this summer," said the former senior internationalist. "So if their kids are the next generation, this will be a tough, tough game for us. They beat Croatia to qualify for this stage, so that gives you an idea of what they are like."
