It's that time of the season: the country's professional players and then our football writers are about to pronounce on who they think should comprise the best side in Scotland for 2013-14.

Ever felt frustrated that your opinion isn't heard? Well, now's your chance. With the help of regular HeraldScotland forum posters, we've compiled a shortlist of four players for each of the 11 positions, and the manager, and now invite you to make your choice.

Once you've made your decisions, you can share your selection via FaceBook and Twitter and see what your fellow fans think.

We'll then aggregate the responses and announce soon who our readers believe make up the Scottish football team of the year.

Before anyone says it, we'll be upfront and admit: yes, there are some Rangers candidates on the shortlist. Let's not be disingenuous…we all know they're not in the top league, but the club has a huge fanbase who shouldn't be disenfranchised in this poll.

If you don't agree with their inclusion on our list, don't vote for them. And remember, football's about fun and opinions!

Thanks to HeraldScotland posters Robert Wilson, John Graham and Michael Price for their help in drawing up the shortlist. The final decision on who to include was down to our digital team.
