The Scottish league season will kick off on August 9 - the weekend after the Commonwealth Games finish.

The Scottish Professional Football League announced that all four divisions would start on the second weekend of August, but there will be cup action during the Glasgow 2014 games.

The domestic season will start on the last week of July with the first round of the Challenge Cup - which was won by Raith Rovers this season - and the first round of the League Cup taking place on August 2-3.
