Islam Feruz, the Scotland Under-21 internationalist, is expected to be sent out on loan next season, with Italian club Torino understood to be interested in taking the Chelsea forward to Serie A.

Massimo Bava, head of youth at Torino, made enquiries about the 18-year-old earlier this season.

The teenager - who moved to Stamford Bridge from Celtic in 2011 for a fee of £300,000 and has made four appearances for his country's under-21 side - featured for the Chelsea first team during pre-season but has still to make his senior debut. The London club are thought to be eager to send him out on loan so that he can gain experience of competitive matches, with Torino first in line to sign him.

The teenager signed a new lucrative contract with Chelsea earlier this year but his immediate future could now lie away from the Barclays Premier League.
