ST JOHNSTONE supporters have gone cup final daft.

Fans of the Perth club have already bought up 10,000 tickets for the William Hill Scottish Cup showpiece with Tayside rivals Dundee United, their first final appearance in the club's 130-year history.

After 6500 had been secured by season-ticket holders, more than 1000 fans queued at McDiarmid Park yesterday for the start of the general sale.

"The take-up has been fantastic and we are on track to take our biggest ever support to the final," Paul Smith, the club's football administrator, said.

"It looks like people really are getting behind the team."
