Rangers conclude their Scottish League One title-winning season at Dunfermline on Saturday but they will not be "shouting from the rooftops" if they achieve their aim of remaining unbeaten, according to left-back Steven Smith.
The Ibrox side have been preparing for life in the Championship next term since clinching their second successive title against Airdrie in the middle of March.
Smith, in his second spell at the Govan club and back in the side in the absence of Lee Wallace, who has been out with a hip flexor problem, gave a summation of the campaign ahead of the game against second-place Pars.
The 28-year-old said: "On the park, I think if we manage to go the season undefeated it will be reasonably successful.
"I don't think we'll be shouting from the rooftops, but it's what the aim was at the start of the season and we've managed to achieve it.
"Personally I'm enjoying playing just now so I would prefer it if the season didn't finish this week.
"But (after Saturday) we'll get away and have a bit of time to relax. A lot of boys have played a lot of games so it's a chance to recharge the batteries.
"They've been at the club for a year now so they know what it's all about and the pressure that's on us.
"So it will probably be good mentally to shut down for a few weeks and then we'll look forward to playing in the next division up."
Much has been made of chief executive Graham Wallace's business review, which had in it the aim of winning the Premiership title in three years' time.
The former Norwich and Preston defender was relaxed about an objective many see as fanciful.
"I can only go on what I'm used to doing at this football club and that is challenging for trophies," Smith said.
"Once we get back to that division we'll take it from there but I think we've only got to concentrate on what is ahead of us and that is the Championship.
"It's going to be a tough year next year and we'll have to be fully focused to get out of that division.
"But that's what I'm used to at this football club - winning. Every time you go out on a Saturday you are expected to win, no matter who we are playing.
"So the Championship is a division that we'll look forward to and we'll look forward to challenging at the top end of it."
