ALLY McCOIST, the Rangers manager, has started the process of restructuring his squad for the SPFL Championship by releasing Andy Little and advising Chris Hegarty and Ross Perry to look for new clubs.
Brazilian defender Emilson Cribari is also likely to leave under freedom of contract despite stating recently that he is keen to stay in Glasgow, while talks are pending with goalkeeper Steve Simonsen and midfielder Kyle Hutton.
Little, who has won eight caps for Northern Ireland, met with McCoist yesterday and was informed that there is no new contract on the table for him following an eight-year spell at the Ibrox club.
"Andy will move on this summer and we thank him for his efforts," said McCoist, who is expected to make Kenny Miller his first new signing after the striker cancelled his contract at Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps over the weekend. "His commitment to Rangers has been excellent and he enjoyed a good partnership up front with Lee McCulloch last season. We wish him all the best for the future."
Hegarty is not out of contract in the summer but has reached a mutual agreement with McCoist that he would be better going elsewhere. "Both Chris and the club are in agreement that he needs first-team football and Ally McCoist has indicated that, if a club comes in for him either on a permanent basis or on loan, he wouldn't stand in the way, which Chris appreciates," said Stephen McCranor, Hegarty's agent.
"He's in great shape and ready to play. He remains a Rangers player at this stage, but the likelihood is that he will start next season at another club."
