DERBY County pair Chris Martin and Craig Forsyth will be named in the Scotland squad today if both are passed fit.
Gordon Strachan, the manager of the national side, intends to include both players in his squad for the friendly against Nigeria in London on May 28. Martin has scored 25 times in 50 appearances for Derby this season, including one in yesterday's 4-1 Championship play-off semi-final second leg against Brighton. The 25-year-old was born in Beccles, Suffolk, and previously played for England at under-19 level, but he qualifies for Strachan's squad because his father was born in Scotland.
Martin began his career with Norwich City, making a handful of Barclays Premier League appearances for them, and had loans at Luton Town, Crystal Palace, Swindon Town and Derby before a permanent move to Pride Park a year ago.
He has been outstanding for Steve McLaren's side as they push for promotion to the top flight this season. A clever finisher and able to hold the ball up to allow team-mates to join the attack, he became the first Derby player in almost 20 years to score 20 goals in a season.
Left-back Forsyth played for Dundee from five years from 2006 before joining Watford in 2011. The 25-year-old was loaned to Bradford City and Derby before joining the latter permanently last summer. He has been an ever-present for them this season.
The pair caught Strachan's eye ahead of their team-mate, Johnny Russell. Both are due to appear in the play-off final against Wigan or Queens Park Rangers at Wembley on May 24, the day before Strachan's squad will gather for the game against Nigeria.
Strachan will name his squad at Hampden this morning. The friendly is classed as a home game for Nigeria but is being staged at Fulham's Craven Cottage.
It is Scotland's last game before the start of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign against Germany in Dortmund in September.
