DAVID WOTHERSPOON, the St Johnstone midfielder, has expressed his disbelief at the plight of Hibernian, with his former club sinking into the relegation play-off place in the SPFL Premiership.
They must play a two-legged tie with either Hamilton Academical or Falkirk to salvage their top-flight status for another season.
Wotherspoon has watched from afar as Hibs fell from grace this term after signing at McDiarmid Park last summer. It is a move which has taken the midfielder out of harms way - St Johnstone finished in the top six of the Premiership - and are also in William Hill Scottish Cup final. The Perth side face Dundee United at Celtic Park this weekend.
"I'm shocked at what is happening at Hibs. I feel for the boys who are playing week-in, week-out," said Wotherspoon. "They aren't getting the rub of the green. They just can't seem to score. They are in a rut they can't get out of. It's incredible to think where I could be and where I am just now."
