Derby County striker Chris Martin says he is "honoured" to be named in the Scotland squad for the first time after an agonising wait to get international clearance.
Gordon Strachan revealed that he wanted to call up the forward, who has scored 25 goals in 50 outings this season in the Championship, for the March win in Poland. But, despite the player being eligible for Scotland through his Glaswegian father, FIFA clearance could not be attained in time for the trip to Warsaw.
Now Martin has been selected alongside clubmates Craig Bryson and Craig Forsyth for the May 28 friendly against Nigeria in London.
"It is an honour for me, although it has been a little while to get to this stage. There was talk of me being in the last squad but clearance didn't come from FIFA in time," he said.
