Scott Wright (Aberdeen)

Scott Wright (Aberdeen)

The kid from Balmedie, who is on the books at Aberdeen, came to prominence with the header just seconds into the second period which shocked Germany in the previous group match and showed again what he had to offer. Has excellent close control and never stops running.

Craig Wighton (Dundee)

A kid from the Ian Cathro production line who resisted the temptation to join them at United, following family orders by signing for Dundee. A lean, mobile striker in the Steven Fletcher mould, Wighton has decent first-team experience at Dens and could feature in the Premiership.

Robby McCrorie (Rangers)

The highly rated young keeper has now demonstrated another string to his bow: a capacity to bounce back from a poor display. A couple of shockers cost Scotland the opener against Portugal but back-to-back games have demonstrated his reserves of self-belief. Penalty save put the tin lid on this victory.

Ryan Hardie (Rangers)

Hard to pick out just a few players from what was an inspired team second-half display, but Hardie showed he can make a difference. Has a playing style which sometimes appears ungainly, but he finds good areas and displays good intelligence. Scored one and set up one as the game changed in the second period.

Dimitri Oberlin (FC Zurich)

The 16-year-old attacking midfielder has reportedly agreed to join Manchester United from FC Zurich this summer. Quick, strong, inventive and clever on the ball, Oberlin seems destined to become a world star.
