Greg Stewart has spoken of his relief after he left Cowdenbeath with the parting gift of Championship survival.

The 24-year-old last month signed a pre-contract to join Dundee but has proved he was never tempted to rest on his laurels in seeing out his fourth season in Fife, scoring 16 goals including four in the play-off victories over Ayr United and Dunfermline.

"The team came through, at the end of the day. We went to East End Park and did what we had to do and I'm absolutely delighted - for the fans, the players, the chairman, the manager, everybody connected with Cowdenbeath," he said.

"On Saturday night before the game I was lying in bed going over all the scenarios - and it couldn't have worked out any better for me.

"To get a goal in my last game as well, I'm absolutely delighted. I'm leaving Cowdenbeath in a good position and hopefully they can kick on from here."
