Paul Hartley, the Dundee manager, will consider sending teenage forward Craig Wighton out on loan next season to help further his development.

Wighton played 14 times as his club side won promotion to the SPFL Premiership this season and has since featured in the Scotland Under-17 side which reached the semi-final stage of the European Championships in Malta.

Hartley has high hopes for his young forward and thinks that a loan move could aid his progress. "Craig might be a possible loan to get the game time he needs. He might do a Stevie May, a player who has gone out on loan at a young age and has come back to be a first-team regular."
