David Goodwillie is ready to start searching for a new club after being put up for sale by Blackburn Rovers.

Ricky Gillies, agent for the Scotland and former Dundee United striker, said: "He's on holiday at the moment and I've not spoken to him yet. Obviously things haven't panned out the way he had hoped at Blackburn. I need to speak to him."

The 25-year-old Goodwillie, who had a year left on his contract, scored just five goals and made only 10 starts for Blackburn since his £2.8m move from United in 2011. He has had loan spells at Crystal Palace, back at United and ended this season at Blackpool.
