Alex Neil expects to be offered a new contract to lead Hamilton Academical next season on their return to the top division in Scotland.

The 32-year-old led the club through the play-offs as player-manager but his contract has since expired.

However, Neil is not inclined to panic and is confident that the Hamilton board will put a new contract on the table. Talks over a new deal had begun in earnest earlier in the campaign.

"My contract is actually up and I've not signed a new deal," said Neil, who has guaranteed Hamilton a £1.5m windfall as a consequence of promotion. "I'm sure we'll sit down and try and get something sorted."
