Murray Davidson has signed a new short-term contract with St Johnstone which will allow him to continue his recovery from a torn patella tendon.

The deal will run until August, when both parties will revisit the issue.

The 26-year-old - who would have been out of contract this weekend - has not played since January but the Perth club are willing to keep him on board and assess his fitness at the start of the new season.

Dunfermline Athletic are already in rude health for the new campaign after the SPFL League 1 side completed a move for Stranraer winger Andy Stirling. He has signed a one-year contract.
