Ikechi Anya is confident that Scotland will have nothing to fear when they open their European Championship qualifying campaign against Germany on September 7.

That trip to Dortmund will comprise the next match for Gordon Strachan's side, which ended this season with an entertaining draw against Nigeria on Wednesday.

That result extended the Scots' unbeaten run to six matches and Anya is adamant that the national team are high in confidence. The Watford wide player does not expect that to diminish by September.

"With our recent run over the last year there's no team that we should fear," said Anya. "Germany are going to have to be below their best and we'll need to be at our best to get anything from that the game.

"But we have this air of optimism that we can go there and get something from the game and that's what we'll go and do. I'm loving it, I like to attack and that's what the gaffer wants from me."
