ROWENA Cornish and Emma Reid take a selfie in front of a giant Commonwealth Games logo which has been unveiled in George Square.
The Big G logo is at the heart of a major programme of activity to "dress up" the city for this summer's event. At 18ft high, it is taller than a double decker bus and weighs four tonnes.
Councillor Gordon Matheson, Leader of Glasgow City Council, said: "Glasgow will come alive during the Commonwealth Games. Dressing the city is central to building anticipation, excitement and pride. The unveiling of this spectacular installation in the heart of the city is an opportunity for everyone - residents, visitors and spectators - to be part of the Games."
Glasgow 2014 Chief Executive, David Grevemberg, said: "Walking around the streets of Glasgow now you get a real sense of how the city will look and come alive at Games time and this spectacular installation is a fabulous part of that backdrop."
Meanwhile, the Games baton was yesterday taken through Rhyl in Wales in the latest leg of its journey to Glasgow.
