Gabrielle MacDonald will be aiming for a double-whammy of titles on home soil when she competes in the St Rule Trophy at St Andrews this weekend.

The 17-year-old from Craigielaw beat Connie Jaffrey at the first extra hole to land the Scottish Women's Amateur Championship at Prestwick last week and is back in action in the strokeplay format over the New and Old Courses for an event that boasts a roll of honour including Catriona Matthew and Annika Sorenstam.

MacDonald is joined in the line-up by Carnoustie's defending champion Ailsa Summers and former Scottish champions Megan Briggs and Alyson McKechin.

Jaffrey, runner-up at Prestwick last weekend, will be looking to continue her impressive season which has also featured a second-place finish in the Helen Holm Strokeplay Championship.
