Glasgow Warriors will play London Scottish in a pre-season friendly a week before the start of the new season, the club has announced.

The RaboDirect Pro12 runners-up will travel south for the game at Richmond Athletic Ground in London on Saturday August 30, with a 3pm kick-off.

London Scottish finished fifth in the Greene King IPA Championship last season.

It's also been confirmed that the clubs will play each other in a return fixture in Scotland next summer.

Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said: "We're really looking forward to playing London Scottish ahead of the new season.

"It will be a good test for the squad and it's an important fixture as we prepare for our first league match the following weekend."

London Scottish head coach James Buckland added: "It will be fantastic for us to test ourselves against a quality side like Glasgow Warriors.

"We have built up a really good relationship with the Warriors and I look forward to welcoming Gregor, his backroom staff, players and officials to the Athletic Ground in August."
