Franz Beckenbauer has insisted that he will co-operate with a FIFA investigation into World Cup bidding practices ahead of the 2018 and 2022 finals and has requested that the provisional suspension preventing him from attending this summer's finals is lifted.

The German had refused to answer enquiries about his voting, claiming that he was unable to understand fully the questions sent to him as they were written in "legal English". He has now insisted that he will provide answers to officials by June 27, although he would respond in written German.
