Morgaro Gomis had no concerns about joining Hearts this summer, despite the club being consigned to the SPFL Championship.

The midfielder spent the last campaign with Dundee United and made 16 appearances as the Tannadice side reached finished fourth in the top flight and reached the William Hill Scottish Cup.

Gomis - who reunites with erstwhile United manager Craig Levein - signed a three-year contract with Hearts last week and is cotent that he has made the right decision.

"I don't think I am stepping down at all. I have come to a great place and I believe this will be a great division to play in," said the Senegal internationalist.
