Executive committee members at FIFA have had their annual pay doubled following the decision to scrap bonuses.
However, world football's governing body have denied media reports that the 25 members can request that they are paid in cash.
The sums of money involved are understood to be annual wages of £117,000, plus generous per diem expenses payable while committee members are on FIFA business such as being at the World Cup in Brazil.
Domenico Scala, the head of FIFA's new audit and compliance committee, acknowledged in February that members had agreed to scrap the system where they received bonuses - reportedly amounting to £117,000 each after the 2010 World Cup. That money is instead being compensated for by an increase in wages.
